Watch out! There is snow incoming at the pass ahead. And keep those tyres steady, as you might just slip and slide away!
MKCC 2022 witnessed about 100 riders from various streams of life participating in the World’s Highest Long Distance Cycling Race. The riders braved the challenging terrain and the existing climate conditions to emerge victorious at the end of the race. The riders raced every day in full steam and were cheered by everyone on the World’s Highest Road. It was heartening to see the riders pedalling over varied and challenging terrain and encouraging fellow riders to push their limits. While some seasoned riders used to mountain biking were at ease, for those who were cycling for the first time in the high-altitude region were finding the going tough. But at the end of each days ride, the experiences were shared and cherished. The Race which was well supported by a fully equipped medical support and energy and hydration points established all along the route, made life a little easy and safe for the riders. The rest day was utilised well in getting rejuvenated and servicing the bikes, before the final ascent to Khardungla. MKCC 2022 revived the spirit of the World’s Highest Long Distance Cycling Race post the hiatus after the 2nd Edition.
