As the organisers of Manali-Khardungla Cycling Championship, we at Northern Escapes have pioneered and organised several adventure trips in the Himalayan and Trans-Himalayan region for over two decades. Northern Escapes is synonymous with ecologically responsible tourism in the Himalayas which is aimed at benefitting the locals while preserving the fragile environment of the Himalayan kingdom.
We also offer off beat travel options in the Northern Himalayas to the intrepid traveller. Our trips are designed to give clients a deep insight into the incredible land, the rich cultural heritage of its people and the amazing but coy wild inhabitants. Northern Escapes is also the proud organiser of Snow Marathon Lahaul – India’s 1st and World’s Highest – Snow Marathon.

Manali-Khardungla Cycling Championship
The Manali-Leh highway stretches over 510 km of predominantly paved roads, with stretches of sand, gravel and rocky terrain thrown in for good measure. The highway will also take you across several passes, three of them being higher than 16,500 ft. MKCC is a journey of rigorous ascents and heart stopping descents even as the incredible terrain and exotic vistas beckon you along the way.
